To so he allows them just to choose but in some exceptional cases when their is need he instructs a man or woman about his life pertner. Even after the days of Adam a prophet in the bible had that rare preveledge.
But the truth is whether God gave you or you met it is always good to seek God’s approval. The truth is that even when Adam got things wrong and blamed it on Eve he was able to say to God “the wife you gave me” though God was not pleased but he worked on them both and the stick together. There is nothing as good as being able to go back to God when things go wrong because you know that you got his approval and he will surely work on the marriage.
The truth is that there never a perfect marriage but people grow and so are able to go together.
